Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 16, 2026
At RandomTask, we believe productivity shouldn't come at the cost of your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

1. Data We Collect

We aim for extreme data minimality. The data we collect falls into three categories:
Account Information: If you choose to "Continue with Google", "Continue with Apple" or create an account, we store your email, name, and profile picture to sync your tasks across devices.
Task Data: Your dice slots, task titles, and completion history are stored securely so you can access them from anywhere.
Usage Data: We collect anonymous technical data (device type, browser version) and aggregated usage metrics (number of rolls, session completions) to help us improve the ritual.

2. Cookies and Consent

On our website, we use cookies to keep the service free or low-cost. We use a "Consent First" approach:
Strictly Necessary Cookies: These are required for the app to function (e.g., keeping you logged in).
Analytics & Ads: We only load Google Analytics and AdSense scripts if you explicitly click "Accept" on our cookie banner.
Your Choice: You can decline non-essential cookies at any time. Declining does not affect your ability to use the core RandomTask method.

3. Third-Party Services

We use a few trusted partners to provide the service:
Supabase: Our secure database and authentication provider.
Apple/Google: For optional "Continue with Apple" or "Continue with Google" login and (with your consent) analytics and ads.
Stripe/App Stores: For processing premium upgrades. We never see or store your full credit card information.

4. Data Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices to ensure your "Wall of Anxiety" stays private and your rewards stay yours.

5. Your Rights (GDPR & Beyond)

Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:
Access the data we have about you.
Request that we delete your account and all associated data.
Export your task history.
To exercise these rights, simply go to your Dashboard settings or email [email protected].
Questions about your data? Reach out to us at [email protected] and we'll help you out.
